Italian gourmet spicy-sweet rounded peppers. Pimiento style with red thick flesh. This is a very popular heirloom variety in Italy used the traditional way stuffed, but also great fresh or pickled. A close cousin to the Botinecka, and can be dried for a deeply colored paprika.
Peppers need a long hot season to do well, and 75-90 degree soil for germination. Start indoors well before transplanting. Plant seed 1/8 inch deep in loose moist soil. Transplant outdoors after soil has warmed to 60 degrees F and nights are consistently warm. Space plants 12-18 inches apart in rows 2 feet apart for most varieties.
